Current affairs for UPSC 2026
Current affairs run through every stage of the exam: Prelims GS Paper I, all four Mains GS papers, the Essay paper and the interview.
How to cover current affairs
- Read one national newspaper daily and note issues, not just events.
- Link each issue to the static syllabus topic it belongs to.
- Revise monthly, then consolidate the last 12–18 months before Prelims.
- Practise Mains answers on current issues, since that's where most aspirants lose marks.
Our GS test series includes current-affairs-based questions in every test, evaluated within 2 hours.
